Week 4: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

Alright Bills fans, this is the best chance Buffalo has to win so far this season. The Jets did make the playoffs last year as a wild card, let’s not forget about that. So far this year, however, they haven’t looked to be the same team as they were late last season. Of course, they haven’t looked as bad as the Bills either.

Jets at BillsThis will be rookie Trent Edwards’ first start in the NFL. Some advantages to that are that he is relatively unknown and may surprise the Jets with his quick release. Because it is his first start, most expect Marshawn Lynch to take his largest amount of touches so far this season. That’s a great thing for Buffalo, as Willis McGahee had his best games against the Jets defense. Lynch has found the end zone against a couple of great defenses, so I expect him to have his best game of his 4 game career against the Jets.

Will we see Lee Evans back to his old self this game? I sure hope so. In last year’s two meetings with the Jets, he had 10 catches, just under 200 yards and a touchdown. Trent Edwards will hopefully be able to find Evans at least a handful of times to get the tandem’s chemistry going.

Some more good news is that Terrence McGee is back. The Jets kick coverage is among the lower part of the league, so McGee should have some great returns and hopefully a score. Both Buffalo and New York are looking to get the ball rolling. The Jets won a close one against division rival Miami last week, but still haven’t got things up to where they’d like to be.

This is a close enough game that I feel I can be optimistic. The Bills are at home, Edwards has a fresh start, Lynch looks good, let’s go Bills!

Prediction: New York 17 | Buffalo 24
