Due to the injuries of Coy Wire, Jason Webster, and Ko Simpson, the Buffalo Bills have signed three defensive players – Leon Joe, Bryan Scott, and Copeland Bryan. Jason Webster and Ko Simpson have both been placed on the injured reserved list and will be out for the entire season. Coy Wire is set to be out for 3 – 5 weeks.
How about those new guys? First we have linebacker Leon Joe. He played college for Maryland and was drafted by Chicago in 2004. He has played in the NFL for Arizona and Chicago. He has yet to really do much in the league.
Safety Bryan Scott was a second round pick in 2003 with Atlanta. He played his college ball at Penn State. He had a few great years with the Falcons, averaging 78 tackles per year, and grabbing 4 interceptions over a 3 year span. He was traded to New Orleans in 2006, but played a reserve role. Hopefully he can bring his Atlanta form to Buffalo.
Copeland Bryan is a big guy at 6’4″, 253 lbs. He is a defensive end who has yet to see any NFL in-game action. He has been with Tennessee and Chicago, just seeing time on the practice squad. He gives the Bills some good size and athleticism on the defensive line.
